Plagiarism Screening Policy

JAMHR strictly adheres to the recognised definitions of plagiarism and follows the guidelines set by COPE, ICMJE, and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan. All submitted manuscripts undergo similarity checks using Turnitin, the official text-matching and anti-plagiarism software provided by HEC.

Manuscripts originating from an author’s M.Phil. or Ph.D. thesis must clearly indicate the thesis title, supervisor’s name, department and university, and year of submission on the title page.

Important: Authors must not use unreliable or unverified plagiarism-checking websites or software.

Allegations of Misconduct

Authors found guilty of publication misconduct may be subject to blacklisting, restricting future submissions. It is mandatory to declare all funding sources for the study explicitly. Individuals engaged in scientific misconduct may face restrictions on submitting further work to the journal.

Disclosure Requirements

Conflict of Interest & Funding

Authors must disclose potential conflicts of interest, including funding, honoraria, academic credit, or promotion. Any prior presentation or publication of the manuscript in conferences, abstract books, or as part of a thesis/project must be stated. All funding sources and expenditures should be disclosed; if none exist, authors should declare “none to declare.”

Editorial board members, reviewers, and staff must disclose financial or personal relationships that could introduce bias. Authors must clearly state the presence or absence of conflicts on the manuscript’s title page.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Manuscript Preparation

Authors may use AI or AI-assisted tools to improve language, clarity, and readability. AI must not replace critical research activities, including data analysis, interpretation, or scientific reasoning. All AI-generated content must be carefully reviewed and edited under human supervision to prevent errors, omissions, or biases.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors, nor cited as authors. Authorship responsibilities are exclusive to humans. Any use of AI in manuscript preparation must be disclosed, and a statement acknowledging its use will appear in the published work. Regardless of AI assistance, authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their manuscript.
